At Ride Safe Uganda, we believe that riding is more than speed, style, or machine power. Riding is responsibility. Riding is awareness. Riding is discipline. And above all, riding is about making it home safe.
That is why we are proud to recognize Uganda Behind Bars, a respected member of Uganda’s riding community and a BMW 1250GS rider, for supporting our growing road safety initiative.
Through his contribution, Uganda Behind Bars sponsored 10 Ride Safe Uganda T-shirts, with each shirt costing UGX 28,000, making his total support UGX 280,000 toward this mission.
This is more than just money.
This is belief in a cause.
Supporting a Message That Matters
Ride Safe Uganda was started with one simple but urgent purpose:
To make riding safer for everyone.
We want to speak especially to:
- young riders who are still learning
- new riders who may be tempted to jump too quickly into high-powered motorcycles
- boda boda riders who share the road with larger and faster machines every day
- big bike riders who should lead by example
- and even car drivers, who must always remember that riders are more exposed and more vulnerable on the road
In Uganda today, motorcycles are becoming more visible, more desirable, and more powerful. But with that growth comes a serious need for education, patience, and safety culture.
That is exactly why support like this matters.
A Rider Supporting Responsibility, Not Recklessness

There is something powerful about seeing a rider on a machine like the BMW 1250GS choose to stand behind a message of discipline and road awareness.
Because one of the biggest misconceptions among young people is this:
“If I can balance a small bike, I can handle a big one.”
But the truth is different.
Big bikes are:
- faster
- heavier
- more responsive
- more demanding
- and far less forgiving when a rider lacks skill, patience, or proper road judgment
That is why Ride Safe Uganda continues to advocate for a riding culture where people are encouraged to:
- learn the basics properly
- respect bike power
- master control before chasing speed
- wear proper riding gear
- and always ride with a safety-first mindset
When experienced riders support this kind of message, it helps shape the future of riding in Uganda the right way.
And that is what makes this contribution meaningful.
Why the T-Shirts Matter
To some people, a T-shirt is just fabric.
To us, it is a statement.
The Ride Safe Uganda shirts are part of a wider mission to build a visible culture of responsibility on our roads. We want riders wearing them to represent something bigger than themselves.
We want every young rider who receives one to understand:
You are not just wearing a shirt — you are carrying a message.
A message that says:
- Wear your helmet.
- Respect the road.
- Don’t ride beyond your skill level.
- Don’t normalize recklessness.
- Be the rider others can look up to.
By sponsoring 10 shirts, Uganda Behind Bars has directly helped us put that message into the hands of riders who can become examples to others.
That is impact.
A Safer Road Needs All of Us
At Ride Safe Uganda, we believe road safety is not only a rider issue.
It is a shared responsibility.
That means:
Riders must:
- wear helmets
- use proper protective gear
- stay alert
- avoid overconfidence
- ride responsibly
Boda boda riders must:
- remain cautious around high-powered bikes
- avoid unsafe assumptions in traffic
- stay visible and predictable on the road
Car drivers must:
- check mirrors carefully
- respect motorcycle space
- indicate early
- and always drive with riders in mind
A safe road culture is built when everyone understands that one mistake can cost a life.
That is why every voice, every rider, and every supporter matters.
More Than Support — It’s Leadership
What stands out most about contributions like this is not only the amount.
It is the example.
When a rider chooses to support a road safety movement, they are saying:
“I want better riding culture in Uganda.”
They are saying:
“I want young riders to learn the right way.”
And they are saying:
“I understand that riding is freedom, but freedom must come with responsibility.”
That is leadership.
And that is exactly the kind of mindset Uganda needs more of on the road.
Thank You, Uganda Behind Bars
We appreciate Uganda Behind Bars for standing with Ride Safe Uganda and helping us continue this important work.
Your contribution of 10 T-shirts (UGX 280,000) is helping us spread a message that goes beyond branding.
It is helping us build:
- safer habits

- stronger rider discipline
- and a more responsible motorcycle culture in Uganda
And for that, we say:
